FAQ’s

1. Should I clean my car before getting it dipped?

Cleaning your car beforehand is highly recommended. It is advised that you should give your car an extremely thorough wash and let it dry overnight to rid the vehicle of all dirt, oil, contaminants, and moisture. This is absolutely essential for a successful paint job.

2. Can I wash my car after it's been dipped?

Dipper Dean doesn't recommend running your car through a car wash -- hand-washing your vehicle is probably the best idea if you want to avoid creating any unwanted premature blemishes. Dipper Dean does NOT cover self-inflicted damage.

3. Will Plasti-Dip damage the integrity of my paint?

Plasti-Dip is a highly resilient, rubber-based, multi purpose coating that can safely be applied to most automobiles. Plasti-Dip will withstand the effects of any weather conditions, including sun, ice, acidic rain, etc.

4. How long will my paint job last?

Dipper Dean uses a professional spray gun to do all cars. When applied at the proper distance, paint jobs can last two to three years. If desired, a fresh coat can be applied on top of the existing paint job at any time.

5. Is there any warranty for my paint job?

Dipper Dean will offer a one year warranty on labor which will only include any peeling, flaking, or cracking. We will not be liable for self inflicted damage peeling or cracking by force or from a carwash. Warranty must be assessed before a decision is made that there was in fact a problem with the process of applying dip to the vehicle. By signing this form you agree to the work performed, prices, and our plastidip warranty.

6. How long does a paint job normally take

A properly completed paint job (including all prep phases) should take roughly five to six hours for a standard matte finish, for pearls/flakes/ and high gloss we like you to drop it of the day before for proper prep and we contact you next day for delivery/pickup. 2 days minimum for custom jobs possibly more if you have a large SUV or truck. Please plan to leave your car for at least half a day or more if you're getting a paint job.

7. What is deemed as a "beyond excessively dirty" car?

If you are looking to get your car detailed, you may have noticed that we charge an extra $5.00 fee for cars that are excessively dirty, not to exceed $10.00 for cars that are 'beyond excessively dirty'. We define beyond excessively dirty as any vehicle with extreme interior and exterior filth (ex. a trash-and-dirt filled truck that is covered in exterior mud).

8. Is my deposit refundable?

Deposits are non-refundable! Due to supplier policy, we cannot refund deposits for paint jobs since the paint acquired from our supplier cannot be returned for any reason. We ask that you be completely sure that you want your car dipped before making a down payment.
